Indianapolis Colts Odds to Win Super Bowl 2011: The Indianapolis Colts [-2.5] will prepare once again for a playoff match-up against the NFL Betting Odds underdog New York Jets [+2.5] for Saturday night’s wild card game from Lucas Oil Stadium.
Indianapolis has reached the postseason for the ninth straight time with quarterback-star Peyton Manning’s help, and have now tied the Cowboys’ record, which Dallas achieved during 1975-1983.
Although Manning had a tough time in November, throwing 11 interceptions in three games, the veteran is looking like his usual self again. In the Colts past four games, Manning has had nine touchdown passes and only two interceptions. Dealing with a great number of injuries, mostly to his key playmakers made leading the Colts that much more difficult for Manning, having to carry-on an even bigger load of the offense.
On Sunday, the Colts defeated the Tennessee Titans 23-20, and the Indianapolis defense limited Chris Johnson to 39 yards rushing. Manning threw two touchdown passes and earned a new mark for completions in a season with 450. Mighty Manning also threw his 398th and 399th career touchdown passes, just one away from reaching Brett Favre and Dan Marino.
The Colts have become the third team since 2000 to have lost a Super Bowl and come back the following season to make it to the playoffs. Indianapolis has definitely shown perseverance this year, and defensive end Dwight Freeney is not surprised by his team’s determination. Currently, the Indianapolis Colts possess just about average chances of winning Super Bowl 2011 at +1400 ML.
"I think it shows the resolve of this team and our fight," said. "It doesn't matter if we're 6-6 and we have to win our last four, we have to do it. If we have to win the last seven, we'll try to do it. That's just kind of what we are and we've been that for a while."
